Its French Protest O'Clock
Emmanuel Macron has a penchant for sparking massive protests in his country. Also, maybe streaming services should pay out better.

France's president Emmanuel Macron has sparked the ire of common folk in France (again) which is generally among the riskiest things as far as head-attachment goes for a person.
About two months ago, Macron called for elections in France. At first, it looked like a right-wing coalition was about to run away with the election, but an alliance between the New Popular Front and the centrist parties of France ended up thwarting the right wing prospects, falling just shy of taking a majority of parliamentary seats while still winning the most votes overall.
Things were looking up for a new direction in the face of stagnation and regression under Macron—who has faced uhh, several major protests even just in the past few years—until Macron recently appointed the next Prime Minister of France: a 73-year-old conservative minister. The left-leaning coalition is not particularly thrilled with this decision.
Over the weekend, over 100,000 people took to the streets in France to protest this latest undermining of the common voice. People of all ages and backgrounds marched in protest, calling for Macron to resign and stating that this feels like a complete undermining of the results of the election.
The left-leaning coalition was pushing for Lucie Castets, a young economist with a history of experience in combating financial crimes.
We'll have to wait and see how this plays out, but both the right-wing and left-wing coalitions have plans to deal with the new PM pick, be it ousting them or threatening to do so while making policy demands.
A recent poll showed a narrow majority was alright with the new Prime Minister pick, while about three-quarters of respondents believe he won't be lasting long in his position.
